Hi,
FA159688 "Configure PowerChute Network Shutdown to shutdown virtual machines on VMware ESX and ESXi" indicates for a HA environment to see FA159784.
FA159784 doesn't include any details for a ESX HA environment - What method is recommended, is the vMA method supported on ESX 4.0?
Thanks.

i think no matter if you are using HA or not, the only method we support as of today is installing on the vMA which then in order to have the ESX box shut down, an RCLI command is used. i know that will change in the future.
so basically, install on the vMA then take note that in a VMware HA cluster environment, the Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown feature is disabled by design and you would need to edit a script to get it to work properly (which is how I read the knowledge base) and what I see listed.
let me know if you need further clarification.
