Changed password - removed alarm
I had to change the password on the account in the "vCenter Server Username" and password in the Communication Settings page. I noticed in VMware an event was logged that said 'Removed alarm Powerchute UPS Critical Event' on .
Why did a password change remove the alarm? How can I add this alarm back so my VM's will power down during a power outage?

Hi,
To troubleshoot I will need to see the PowerChute Event log and the pcnsconfig.ini file. Assuming PCNS is communicating with vCenter Server, has been configured to shutdown VMS, and the new user name and password has been added to each host, PCNS should power off the VMs then the hosts.
As for critical events, there are many. Examples, UPS on battery, UPS low battery, PCNS lost communcations with NMC. All events are listed in the user's guide and in the help file.
