I need to change the voltage level that the UPS starts to trim the voltage to a higher. The UPS only has a DB9 connector. I am using the provided APC able with a serial converter. I cannot get PowerChute Business Edition to connect and the I tried the Personal edition and it will not completely load the software because it does not see an UPS. Is there any other way to set this parameter or increase the trimmed output to 120V. I am getting only 118V out with the trim on?

You can't adjust the amount of the trim/boost, as in it's a fixed percentage. You can adjust the voltage thresholds which kick it in. So you can't raise the trimmed voltage, but you can raise the point at which it switches to trim.
If you can't get the APC tools to work, the easiest way is probably just to run a serial terminal. Full details are here : https://networkupstools.org/protocols/apcsmart.html
2400 Baud 8/n/1.
'u' displays the upper transfer voltage. +/- cycles through the available values. For example on my SUA3000I :
YSM
u261
+OK
u265
+OK
u253
+OK
u257
+OK
u261
Here, I entered 'Yu+u+u+u+u'. The UPS replies are in-line as displayed on my terminal.
'Y' should see the UPS return 'SM', and lets you know you are set up correctly.
