Taking the gold medal is APC's Capacity Manager software. The tool is tied in with the InfraStruXure rack, power and cooling platform, the software is able to calculate physical infrastructure capabilities as well as consumption of space and power to help users figure out how much data center capacity is available.

Capacity planning has always been done manually by taking readings and calculating loads, but the tools in this category will give data center managers a more efficient and quicker way to track resources.
