Cannot uninstall PCNS 3.0 from SBS 2011 - error within...

I have a new SBS 2011 server which i inadventantly installed PCNS (x64) when I meant to install PC Business Edition.
During the install of PCNS it required Java (x64) which I downloaded from:

Java SE Runtime Environment 7
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-se-jre-7-download-432155.html

The install then proceded uneventfully.

I then realised my mistake and went to remove PCNS from "programs and features", when I tried to do so, a DOS window flashed very quickly (that I couldnt read) and the software didnt uninstall. I also tried clicking uninstall.exe from the program files directory, but that had the same effect.
After trying to uninstall many times, I eventually pieced together the error message....

"program is not recognised as an internal or external command operable program or batch file"

i believe this error will be easily reproducable as this is a clean system. Anyways, I then called APC tech support to obtain manual uninstall instructions. the support guy i got was a joke and couldnt help me whatsover - hence this forum post.

can someone assist with manual uninstall process? (and if anyone from APC is reading - the uninstall routine doesnt work)

Thanks

Ok, I have some info.

I have done some testing in a freshly built VM. It seems if you specify a volume to install other than C:, then the unstinall routine doesnt work **face palm**

So, I think the process will be as follows:

# Stop Java service
# Stop the pcns.exe * 32 service (BTW the 64bit agent runs as 32Bit !?!)
# Delete the following Reg key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\APC
# Delete the APC folder from Program Files
# Then reinstall PCNS using the defaults i.e install to C:
# Then uninstall PCNS

APC if you are reading, please fix this bug.

Cheers

Thanks, I have tried that - re-run the installer - it finishes with "Powerchute has been successfully upgraded"

I still cannot uninstall, same message.

If you can use system restore use it to restore your computer before you installed pcnc

Or Go To

My Computer>C:\>Program Files>And find a folder called powerchute and delete it or otherwise it will be called apc

not happy with just deleting the folder... this is a server and reliability is utmost importance. i cant be leaving behind registry entries, services etc
system restore is not an opion.

what i really need is manual uninstall steps
