Cannot send email without authentication

I'm trying to set up notification via email but when I leave the user name and password blank in the area where I would put the SMTP server authentication, I get an error telling me that I need to enter something for the user name field. How am I supposed to configure the NMC so it doesn't require a user name and password? I have an AP9630.

it is a little silly but just leave User in the username field (which is the default). that field cannot be null. that will change in a future release but it shouldnt matter if your server never requests authentication. the password and confirm password fields can be blank.

I have the same problem with v6 and I still get error, that server not configured, even with default user:
