Cannot log on to APC Management Web Server

I am managing two UPS systems that are connected to our network via LAN connection cards.  Until recently, I was able to access them both by entering their IP addresses into a browser window, and then entering the (default) credentials into the login screen.  However, for the last few weeks, one of those is returning an error when I enter these credentials, saying "Someone is currently logged into the APC Management Web Server. Please try again later."  This has been going on for some weeks now, during which time all the servers that may have had a session open from their consoles - have been rebooted.  My PC, which would be the most obvious access point, has also been rebooted (many many times), and whenever I have had a session open, it very quickly times out anyway - so I am at a loss as to how this is happening.  Other than actually shutting down the UPS (which I really don't want to do, for obvious reasons), I can't think of a way to either identify where the open session is being held, or to force it off or bypass it.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

Immediate solutions to regain access:

 - pull the network management card out and re-insert, or insert a paperclip into the reset hole.

 - set SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.2.1.0 to 1

When you have access to the web, you might check control->security->session managment to see if any sessions stay active longer than you expect. Also under configuration->security->session management be sure to allow concurrent logins.

Many thanks voidstar - so the answer turned out to be as simple as straightening a paper clip smile after I had spent a month or so looking for 'technical' solutions.  It worked perfectly... thank you so much.  I can't see the Control->Security setting options you mentioned, but now I am armed with this swiss army knife tool - I feel totally invincible and don't care if anyone else locks the session again - I can get around it and kick them off...

Thanks again

Graham
