I've received a SU700RMNET that had an AP9605 installed. I've reset the unit, used a correct cable...but it is not accepting the apc/apc username and password. Is there another way to reset the root account information?
I know it is only an SNMP card, but that's all I'm looking to use it as.

well, not sure if it was what you helped me with, but I had taken the card out and set it on my desk over the weekend. I put it back in today, I tried the backdoor and it didn't login with it. Just for giggles, I tried apc/apc...and it worked. I don't know if it was because it sat w/o power for an extended time that completely reset it...but it works now. thanks for the help!

Jolyf,
The backdoor password for serial number WA9807628417 is: ***** (the character after the ^ is a capital I as in "India").

that one would be ******
just a reminder, this backdoor password resets the password to apc/apc. so you log in with apc/backdoor password then that resets it to apc/apc.

from now on, i am going to request that anyone needing a backdoor password preferably contact APC support via phone or email (800-890-4272 or esupport@apcc.com) or worst case, Private Message me so I can get you the password via PM.
thanks. i am going to lock the thread so that no more requests can be submitted on this post.
i also edited out all of the passwords that were present in this thread.

I get a permission denied on the linked procedure.
It does have a reset button, the card does seem to be rebooting...but the apc/apc does not work.

Corey,
The AP9605 may require a backdoor password in conjunction with the prior user name to obtain backdoor access.
If you know the original username, and can provide the serial number for the card, I can possibly post a backdoor password generated here.
I cannot guarantee at this time that this is the correct solution though. However, I will continue to research. For the time being, it is worth a shot.

I do not know what the previous username/password was...it may not have been changed from apc/apc

Try apc for the usernam and ****** for the password. In the IBB string it is the letter "eye".
If that's not it, chances are it was changed from the default apc/apc as you stated it's not letting you in, but here's the manual for the AP9605 in case you want to double check your settings.
My mistake, Angela already provided the manual.

Hello,
The age of the cards ( looking at the serial number) is more then 10years!
I assume that something happened to EEPROM memory, internal chips (ICs) and I would not waste time here with it... Just to use new one....modern one

Nick,
Go ahead and try the admin username, then ***** for the password, then apc/apc to get in. If this doesn't work, I would try the reset procedure again, this time waiting a few seconds in between each time you press the reset button.

WA9847017460 *****
WA9826000006 *****
I recommend pasting those password strings into notepad or into a text editor using a single spaced font. Arial/Helvetica makes it very difficult to distinguish capital I from lowercase L, etc.

I have another card to get a password:
S/N: WA9838467000
...please
edit:
if I change the serial number to the one in my original problem, with the generated pw work in this 2nd card? In other words, are these passwords linked to the NMC's serial number?

There is no backdoor password for AP9617's, other than going through the reset procedure.
When doing the reset procedure, after pressing the reset button the first time, wait for the lights to alternately flash. Then press it a second time, and the lights will go out. As soon as the lights go out, press Enter in Hyperterminal, until you receive a username prompt. From that point, you have 15 seconds before it times out.
