Cannot communicate with management card

Hi

We have a Smart-UPS 3000 RM XL fitted with a AP9631.

The first time we tested this using the manual shutdown it worked but now all 3 of my servers drop like a stone and from the client interface on all 3 they say they cannot communicate with management interface card.

Done some testing and I can telnet to ports 80, 443, 3052 and 6547 on all 3 servers but I can only telnet to port 80 on the management card.

Checked the Cisco ASA and there is no traffice being blocked across the LAN and also the windows firewall is turned off.

Any help appreciated

I think Wireshark is being run on .13.1. Any traffic from 13.1 is picked up by Wireshark before the checksum has been computed, so of course the checksum appears wrong, however it'll be correct on the wire. Red herring.

can you provide any files from the NMC via FTP? [instructions are located here|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321]

event log would be handy. it also may not be a bad idea to reboot the card or reseat it to start, if you cannot get those files.

the default telnet port is 23 so someone had to have specifically changed it to 80. sounds like a possible configuration issue but i'd need the config.ini file to verify, which you can get using those instructions above.

Hi

Just did a net stat pcns and have attached the screen dump but it looks like the hpsmhd.exe (System Management Homepage) is using port 3052 and Java is using 3268.

Not sure what it could be on the other servers as I have 2 esx4.1 servers with 6 VM 's which don't have the HP system tools installed

i agree. nothing in the config files, at first glance, stuck out to me and seemed to line up with the symptoms you are seeing. web access is enabled for browser access via port 80.

lets see if you can get the PCNS event logs so we can see exactly what PCNS is reporting and then go from there.

10.0.13.1 is one of the clients as well as 10.0.13.3 and 10.0.13.5
