Hello there,
I've got several APC AP8853 rack PDUs. All of which are assigned IP addresses and connected to the network. However, after some time I noticed I cannot access some PDUs by their IP address even though they used to work fine. In order to overcome this I have to connect to the PDU through the serial port and restart the monitoring module from there or do a hard reset using pin head. This is so inconvenient. I have googled to see if there is any help and found this link
https://www.apc.com/an/en/faqs/FA237061/
However, the firmware version on those units is 6.5.6 as per attached screenshots.
I'm looking for your support. Thanks.

First thing I say is upgrade the NMCs to 6.9.6:

This is how I fixed it:
1. I downloaded Putty for Windows
2. I entered the IP address and used port 22 leaving all other settings alone
3. It asked to login, I used apc for the username and password
4. Once logged in I typed web and hit enter. I noticed that HTTP was disabled. To enable it I typed web -h enable and pressed enter
5. If done correctly it will ask to reboot. Type reboot and then YES and enter
This will restart the board, but will not interrupt an devices plugged in. Wait about 2-3 minutes and then you should be able to access it with a web browser
