Can I (should I try to) modify the default Powerchute PE voltage ranges?
I searched through the Knowledgebase and the forum but did not see anything that addressed how (and/or whether it is neccesary) to change the limits presented in the user interface for the maximum and minimum voltage before the UPS switches to the battery. And the selections differ on the two systems I am trying to change.
One of the systems (Windows XP) uses a Back-UPS BR1000G. Available selections for the upper range is 144-150 volts; lower range is 78-88 volts. Load is 132 watts.
The other system (Windows Server 2003) uses a Back-UPS RS 900. Available selections for the upper range is 136-142 volts; the lower range is 94-104 volts. Load is 91 watts.
Facility voltage normally runs 112-117 volts.
It seems to me that 88 volts is very low. Is AVR really effective for that kind of severe brownout condition, and would repeated or extended adjustments shorten the lifespan of the UPS?
Just looking for some assurance that the UPS will perform within those tolerances.
