Calculate "low battery" to initiate shutdown on storage in VShpere environment

Situation:
6 VMware Vsphere 6.7 hosts
2 HPE Storevirtual 4000 Storage units
VCenter server on seperate, non cluster VM
PCNS 4.2 on stand-alone physical W2016 server.

The shutting down of the VM's and hosts are configured to start a shutdown sequence at critical event: "Low battery"
At least, that is what I read from the eventlog, when we had power loss for a longer period of time.
At some point in time, when the VM's and VShpere hosts are down, the storage units needs to go down gracefully.

So, I guess I need somehow calculate what exactly "Low Battery" means, to kick of a script that shuts the storage units down ?
Is there a way that I can just put a time value in PCNS that starts the shutdown sequence after some minutes after the "On Battery" event ? Are there any other recommendations regarding this setup ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

You can configure PowerChute to start the shutdown after UPS has run on battery for x minutes. Open the PowerChute UI and go to Configure Events - UPS on battery. Click Shutdown, then click Enable Shutdown, enter the amount of time you would like the UPS to run on battery before PowerChute starts the shutdown process and click apply.

I have attached a video that shows the process. In the video I set the on battery delay to 5 minutes. When the UPS reports it is running on battery PowerChute will wait 5 minutes. If the UPS has not switched back to AC within the 5 minutes PowerChute will start the shutdown process.
