Battery Shelf Life

Can you please tell me what is the shelf life of RBC55 replacement battery? I came across a good deal but my UPS is only about a 12 to 18 months old. Just wondering if I can have the replacement battery sit around for 12, maybe 24 months. Thank you

David, Temperature is a major factor that determines battery lifetime during storage and usage. Optimal operating temp is around 25 degrees C. For storage, lower temperatures are better; always store a battery fully charged. Battery will self discharge during storage (5 % per month at 25 degrees C, 10 % at 35 degrees C, more at higher temperatures) and should be recharged approx. every 6 months during storage.
