We have some older SmartUPS 2200XLs in one of our branch office's server rooms.
These are all heading towards 'end of serviceable life' - we already have a newer APC UPS (RT 10000) in place and later this year we will overhaul the layout so everything gets moved to the new UPS.
We are having some problems with the older 2200s 'crapping out' and shutting down. I'd like to know how these can be set to run in 'bypass mode' - so the UPS acts as a glorified plug strip until such time as we can go to this center and strip the obsolete equipment and the 2200s.
Thanks in advance.
Dave

Yes, the batteries are dying in these - but we spent PLENTY on the new UPS so we're reluctant (to say the least) to 'invest' in new batteries that may only see service for a few months.
The majority of the load on these old UPSes is stuff that's going away anyway.
This does answer my question; we'll just get a few rackmount plugstrips (which we need for that center regardless).
