Can SUA1500i automatically power down 2 servers?

Hi

We are looking to use an SUA1500i to power two servers.

If the power goes off can we use the Smart-UPS function to power off both servers automatically?

I would like to use the network shutdown for both servers, I had trouble getting the UPS to shut down a single server but now that is work good.

I have all the software but the instruction on how to set it up is non- exsitant,
and am not sure how to configure. I did receive help I needed from the forum to get the first server to shut down ok, now I am ready to setup the system

to shut both machine automaticaly  Can someone explain the proper steps to install the software on the second machine and what software needs to

run on the second machine. I assume the client software needs to run on the second machine, and the server software on the promary machine.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

What software are you using? PowerChute Network Shutdown or PowerChute Business Edition?

If using Network Shutdown with your UPS that contains a network management card, you'd install that software on each client you want to gracefully shutdown to begin. It will talk to the UPS over the network.

If you're using Business Edition and your servers are connected to the UPS via USB or serial cables, you should install PowerChute Business Edition Agent on the second computer to begin and then you can go to your Console (wherever it is installed) and tell it you want to add another Agent to monitor.

Angela, thank you responding so fast I have the business version of the software. This has been an on going problem

and am now trying to get the 2 servers to shut gracefully .

I realize this is an old UPS but it works very good and am very pleased.

If you look at an earlier post in and around Sept or Oct., I installed the system they way it recommended use a browser for the user interface

and that got the system up and running now I am ready to connect the second server.

I found the instruction online from APC were unclear and confusing, that why all the questions

Thanks Dick Fournier
