Hello ,
I hope this is the right place to report a bug?
It seems there is a bug regarding the Daylight Saving Options (DST) in the firmware for our AP7920 's.
Latest firmware is installed :
rpdu Version: v3.7.4
aos Version: v3.9.0
Here in Europe we use : last Sunday March / last Sunday October
To start with , the settings are even conflicting/contradicting in itself (?!). You can select "fourth/last" or "fifth/last".
Now... the fourth can never be the last, if there is a fifth that given year ...
And "fifth' can not be a valid option, as this does not occur every year.
("Chicken or the Egg" , anyone?)
So the valid options to match rule-sets , SHOULD simply be : first/second/third/fourth/last
Secondly, selecting "fifth/last" (as it should be in my case?), does not work.
The time then changes on the second Sunday in March (?!) , as I have noticed this month.
Selecting fourth/last seems to work (on the fourth Sunday), but is not correct for our DST- schedule (last Sunday).
In years when there is a fifth Sunday, it will also switch on the fourth.

Another bump!
Not only do you "never seem to get DST correct apparently" but apparently you seem to have given up all together.
I don't know why you think this is unimportant. We have scheduled power events through the night and this causes havoc every time the clocks change.

Hi - I'll have the local support in EMEA region double check the settings and confirm what the bug affects and then we'll go ahead and log it. I'll let you know if we have further questions on this, else, we'll log a bug about it with what you provided.
Thanks for providing the details of the specifics.

Great !
I also just happened to find this post, dating back to 2010 :
But it is regarding a Network Management Card, I believe.
And the thread stops without a (public) solution.

Yeah, that one was on our second generation Network Management Card 2 (NMC2). AP7920 uses the older generation NMC1. We can never seem to get DST correct apparently
I'll report back next week when I presume I'll log the bug after EMEA team double checks DST for EMEA regions (I hope).

My apologies for the flippant remark, but I recommend you focus all your efforts on getting the governments of the world to scrap DST altogether. I really dislike having to change all the clocks and watches in my house!

This was reported a year ago and the bug still exists (even though there has been a subsequent firmware update to v3.9.2)
Is there ever going to be a fix for this? We have scheduled power changes and this really messes our systems up.

It has been six years now,
Yet again , I get called out of my bed at 3:00 AM
Can someone please fix this crap?!?!? It is getting really ridiculous.
How hard can it be to implement a working DST ?
