Hi guys.
What would be the recommended way of utilising PowerChute Network Shutdown in a small environment containing a Single SmartUPS with a AP9630 NMC2
One VMware 5 host containing Windows VMS
One External Windows 2008 R2 Server containing Vcentre
I have been playing about with the PCNS VA on a test Vmware Server (No Vcentre) on another UPS.
This works ok and shuts down the VMS and the host fine.
I no the Virtual Appliance can integrate with the External Windows Vcentre Server and can have a plugin installed into Vcenter. Would it best best to use this configuration ?
Does this also shutdown the External Windows Server containing Vcentre ?
Or just install the Windows version on the External Windows Server Containing vcentre with the Enable Vmware Support option selected ?
Thanks for any response.
Jason.

Hi,
I recommend "VMware Shutdown - Single UPS Configuration" that is listed on page 41 of the PCNS VMware Users Guide
With this configuration you install PCNS on the standalone Windows Server along with vCenter and configure it to power down the VMs and host.
