Battery capacity is normal email every 3-5 minutes

I'm getting really fed up because my email inbox is being filled up with constant emails from my UPS via PowerPanel.  It says "

Power Event Notification

Battery capacity is normal

I don't get any other notifications.  I haven't changed any settings.  I've always had notifications setup for when something might go wrong, but I don't want to know when everything is normal.

Help would be appreciated.

Can you provide a model number of the APC UPS you’re having problems with?!? The (Power Panel) name you mention sounds like a CyberPower software?!? 🤔

Hi @Teken it's the CP1350C.  It's the CyberPower PowerPanel software version 2.3.5 and I've checked it's the latest version.

Battery health is 59% capacity with an estimated runtime of 10 mins.

Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,

Not sure why you’re asking this specific (CyberPower) software question on a APC forum?!?

Regardless, I would start by reviewing the logs prior to, during, and after the email messages were sent. Based on your last reply of 59% battery health with 10 minutes of runtime indicates your location saw power issues. As such, the unit ran on battery only until such time the power quality / power outage was resolved.

I suspect the logs will either show a loss of (120 VAC) due to a power outage or the unit transferred to battery as the quality was poor. If there was an outage the error logs will show zero voltage on the input. If power quality was not within its defined threshold you’ll see high / low voltage in the (time stamped) logs.

That could be something like 90 VAC to 128 VAC.

Most UPS makers allow the user to define the sensitivity, upper, and lower transfer voltage. Normally the sensitivity option defines how the unit will operate when dirty (poor) quality power is seen. This is generally defined as (low medium high) etc. Once defined this tells the unit to run on battery power vs line power.

The transfer voltage defines the AVR circuits operating range. When this range is exceeded it will also transfer to battery only mode.

As it relates to the emails you should have the ability to define when, how, and number of messages in the software. It’s common to see a time which you can define in seconds, minutes, hours. Along with the number of messages or conditions.

The most common default is alert until CLEAR. You can define it to repeat X number of times etc.

Let us know what you find. Attach some logs or photos for review.
