Would like to know where and how the SRT UPS determines the battery packs serial number. As I have recently rebuilt several of the battery cartridges. The new battery pack does not show any serial number within the NMC2 web page.
Having looked very carefully at the original battery cells I don't see any kind of chip that would allow the system to identify a serial number to the SRT UPS system?!?
So, again how does the UPS know what that number is and where is it on the battery pack???

After taking the entire battery case apart a chip was found inside the internal housing. The chip ID is installed on to a PCB that provides spike protection and the number of battery packs in place via a defined resistor value.
As you kindly noted APC / Schneider would never reply back as to how this information is defined. π€¦ββοΈπ

I also asked myself this question, I did not find any information, and even here I see that they are in no hurry to enlighten.
