Please add a plan option to APC SmartConnect that enables SNMP locally. We would like to also monitor our UPS units with our existing monitoring solution.

Just wondering what model device you have. Most UPSs you can get a network monitoring card like the AP9640 to do this with.

We have deployed a bunch of model SCL500RM1UC, which does not have the option to add a network monitoring card. However we also have some SMTL1000RM2UC which we are considering add on cards for, however it would be great not to have to add them. I'd rather pay more for a Smartconnect plan that adds some basic SNMP.

If history is any kind of indicator this feature will never be seen. ☝️ You’re talking about a company that can’t and won’t support proper SSL / TLS encryption for the entire life of a hardware product, now EOL! 👎
If the hardware could support SNMP it probably would. I’ll wager the processor can’t support advanced features because the hardware is too low power. 🤦♂️ This is why all of the processing is off loaded to the cloud like a thin client.
At the end of the day cloud first vs local first is just another huge gaping hole and attack vector in terms of security.
The fact people believe it’s a good idea to allow an offsite (third party) company access and control over your critical power infrastructure is mind boggling!
Just one key stroke and a person could shut down an entire company. What could ever go wrong there?!? 🤣
