Battery Pack Count for entry to PowerChute Serial Shutdown

Is it the total number of battery packs requested in Power Cute:

A.   Number of individual 24v battery packs (RBC7 in my case with Back-UPS 1000XL & SUA24XLBP Batttery Module) ..... This number would be three(3) !! (1x in UPS and 2x in Battery Module)

   (OR)

B.   Number of Battery Modules (SUA24XLBP in my case) Therefore the number would be one(1) ???

I keep getting contradictory answers, so need to know from the source 🙂

Also is it worth doing a full calibration run if PowerChute is setup properly ? And should the Calibration Run be done with or without load ? (I'd assume normal load parameters.... but Meh 🙂 ?

It would be (1) for the module not the separate battery cells. Battery calibration should be done once a year or when the cells are changed out.

This is done with at least 30% attached load to the unit.

Thanks Teken..... So in my case the total would be (2) I'd assume.  1 = On Board UPS Battery (+) 1 = Extended Battery Pack.  Just replaced all new batteyry's ... So 30%+ load for the calibration..... Cheers đŸ˜Ž

The units are really old and from a period where the information as you said is less than clear.

Ive appended two manuals that talk about how the system is (supposed) to be informed about the number of extended battery packs are there for clarity sake. 🤦‍♂️

https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=User+guide&p_File_Name=SCON-8FTPYA_R0_EN.p...

As an aside newer systems such as the SMX, SRT UPS do not count the main units battery cartridge. Nor do they count the individual cartridges inside of the extended battery unit. ☝️

An SMX / SRT Extended Battery Pack has two separate cartridges. Each cartridge incorporates 4 cells which means the entire unit has 8 battery cells inside.

When you view the number of extended battery packs on the main LCD, NMC, or NMS the count would be (1) if there was only one unit attached.
