BE650G "programmed" for energy mgmt, but no way to change settings?
BE650G, f/w vers = 842.J3.D
bought 7/02, charged ~24 hrs, connected ~175 W of load, connected laptop (XP) to dataport, installed PwrChute Pers Ed v3 on laptop, turned off audible alarms.
UPS turned off sometime during night, when both loads were off/stby. One load was a DVR programmed to record during the night. Wife noticed UPS off, DVR hadn't recorded... I have to fix it or replace it.
Connected laptop again, discovered no Energy Mgmt option available in Config. No markings on UPS indicate "Master" plug.
UPS appears to be programmed for Energy Mgmt, but I can't change it. Suggestions?
(forum searches may indicate futility on my part - if settings aren't kept in UPS memory when I disconnect PC. Would "brain deading" the EEPROM be a possible option? Internal modifications with wire cutters, soldering iron, etc?)
UPDATE: Experimenting one plug at a time, the (UPS) plug closest to the data port, etc. appears to be the culprit; the laptop connected to it initially powered up on battery rather than AC. This is the Master plug on other versions of the 650. I did not check to see if the "controlled by master" surge outlets were also off.
Does anyone have any suggestions based on this new info? Thanks!
