I get the yellow triangle and alarm when I start windows that says I need a new battery. My preformance shows 30 min run time and 100 percent charged. I have to disable alarm and sounds completely in the software options in order to turn of this alarm but still get the yellow triangle.
What do I do. I know it has been a few years since I registered my product and maybe this has something to do with it but it should not.
Advise.
Thanks
Tom

the batteries inside of the APC UPSs are lead acid batteries - similar to car batteries. they generally last 3-5 years, depending on use. the software is probably telling you that the unit failed an internal battery self test or that it has reach the 3 year battery mark so that you should think about a battery replacement before the battery fails completely - meaning the UPS would transfer to battery and the UPS may not provide the desired runtime or completely turn off. it is more of a "heads up."
what model UPS is this? from your other thread it seems like maybe a BE550R but you should check the little white sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS for the exact model so that we can point you in the right direction of either a.) a new battery with 1 year warranty or b.) a new UPS with a new battery and 3 year warranty on unit and battery. you can also get a discount on that if you trade your old unit in with a prepaid shipping label to send the old one back.
