SHUTDOWN virtual machines hosted by win server, please help !
This question was originally posted by parsec10 on APC forums on 12/6/2010
Hello !
I have a problem which is getting me crazy,
I own 2 physical servers:
- the first one is running windows 2003 and SQL,
- the other one, which is attached directly to a SMART UPS 1000 using a serial cable, is running windows 2008 hosting two virtual machines (vmware server): windows server 2003 SBS as a Domain controller and the other is another vm server 2003).
I did not use ESX as host OS for a couple of reasons...
I really need to know how i can switch off safely all the servers (virtual and physical ones) when the power fails.
Do i need a network interface? Which software do i need?
