Hi,
I have a Smart-UPS RT 3000VA 230V with an AP9618 NMC; a Dell PE R620 (W2K12 R2) attached is via the serial cable to the RJ 45 socket on COM2 and the NMC is attached to a switch.
I have set up the UPS with the Terminal Console and can now access the UPS via the web interface - 192.168.192.49.
I am now trying to install PowerChute Business Edition. I've installed the Agent on the server and the Server and Console on a management server (WK12 R2), it can't find the server where the agent is installed.
I have searched this issue for a couple of days now and have found that I should be able to access the agent using http://192.168.192.49:3502. When I try this I get a 'Page can't be displayed' (IE11 and Chrome).
I've not set up an APC UPS before and am unfamiliar with the process. Am I missing something?
Thanks
Tony

Hi Bill,
and thanks. Just got off the phone with APC and they said I need to use Network Shutdown to manage this. Have downloaded and will be trying their suggestion.
Cheers
Tony

Tony,
What version of PowerChute are you installing? If it is the latest (9.2) when the installer is first run it will search the ports in an attempt to discover what model UPS is attached. If A UPS is not discovered a window will pop up asking you to select DB9 or RJ45.
If you are seeing this window then there is an issue with communications between the server and the UPS. You should verify that the cable is connected properly. The JR45 connector must be attached to the port on the back of the UPS labeled Serial. I understand that seems logical but a lot of users attach the cable to 1 of the ports the NMC mistakenly.
As for the Agent not being accessible, is the service running? Open the Cotrol Panel, select Administrative Tools, then select Services. You should see APC PBE Agent with a status of Started. If the Service is not started you will not be able to access the Agent web interface.
If the service is running open your browser and type https://192.168.192.49:6547 It is possible the browser is not redirecting to the proper port.
