Hi all, I'm having a bit of trouble logging into the Web Agent Interface on a Windows Server 2008 system. I've tried both IE and Firefox and neither worked. I've installed the latest version of Java and when I try to log in under IE it asks to install an ActiveX control...I select yes and the dialog box goes away. Then when I enter username and password it beeps several times and I get the "Errors On Page" message in the bottom right. The details are as follows:
Line: 9
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: http://127.0.0.1:3052/security/applet?referrer=/
When I try in Firefox nothing happens at all. The site is added to my trusted sites in IE and activex is enabled for that zone. Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks for any help that can be provided!

I am currently working with Mellow on this issue and will be escalating it to some of our software escalation members if we cannot find a solution.

from what I have seen, this is usually a java problem. make sure your java and java plugins are up to date and of course, installed.
hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies guys.
We're on PCBE version 8.01. I've tried from IE7 and IE8...both with the latest version of Java as far as I can tell. When hitting it from another machine on the network, running IE8, I was able to get the activex control installed but it still gives me an "error on page" message when I go to log in and nothing happens.
It said it was running in compatibility mode on the page...do I need to find a PC in the office still running IE7?

Will,
What's the Java version that you are using? Have you tried another browser like Mozilla FireFox?

Hi
I was able to replicate this issue in the past.
Can you please check if Scripting of Java applets is disabled on the IE? Please follow up the kbase below.
http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=9597
If this issue still happens after enableing Scripting of Java applets, Please try to use
http://
Let me know how it goes.

I have the same problem and have tried the above suggestions. Powerchute is a very frustrating and seemingly over complex piece of software. At this point after hours wasted I am not a big fan.
Please help!

Hi Will, welcome to APC forum.
Is this computer connected on a network? If it is on a network we can use another computer to login into the Agent web interface. All you need to do is to open a web browser on the second computer and key-in the URL http://
What version of IE are you using as well as the PCBE Agent?

svines,
Thanks you very much! Installing the 32 bit version of the Java JRE fixed this problem on the Windows Server 2008 x64 machine I'm running PowerChute on.
