Hi,
I´m using a Smart-UPS X 2000 with the following Network Card: AP9631.
Currently i´m trying to set up the PowerChute Agent software on some Clients (VirtualMachines).
I was able to install the software, and run the webinterface for configuration. (on a Windows and a Linux Machine)
After i configured everything according to this Video "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLjvcB7IRCk&t=2s" , my Client (Agent) is unable to connect to the UPS-Network-Card.... (find screenshot)
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?
Thanks and Best regards
Dustin

Hi,
If your host/s are Citrix Xen we do not support installing on VMs. You will need to install on a standalone Windows or Linux server. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA159764. You will need the scripts to shut the host/s down.

We do not support installing PCNS on a Windows VM and only support PCNS running on PowerChute Linux VM for VMware or VMware vMA. The PowerChute VM is a CentOS Linux installed that is bundled with PCNS. VMware vMA is SuSE Linux and PCNS can be installed onto that.
If the host/s are Windows Hyper-V we do not support installing on any VM. PCNS should be installed directly on the host.
As for troubleshooting the communications please see Schneider Electric FA159624
The most common issues are mismatched use name, authentication phrase, subnet mask, or UDP port 3052 is blocked. When PCNS registers with the NMC it communicates over TCP port 80 or 443 and receives confirmation via UDP port 3052. As mentioned in the video the user name for PCNS client must match the set user name for PowerChute clients in the NMC. The authentication phrase must also match.

Well maybe i'll start with, what i'm trying to do.
We are using a Xen-Server environment and for my first test i choose a Virtual Debian Machine from one of our Xen-Sever-Hosts.
I installed the PowerChute NetworkShutdown on this VirtualMachine (correct right?).
I want to configure this VM so that it will shutdown once the UPS is running on battery for 60 seconds (for testing).
Also i checked the ports on UPS and VM... 3052 is open on the VM but closed on the UPS (how do i open that?)
I´m going to make sure our configuration is correct once again.
Thanks in advance!
Dustin
