AP8866 won't connect to the network

I have an AP8866 PDU firmware version 6.4.6   I've manually configured the IP address.

I can't ping it.  The network guy can see the MAC address on the switch port. The IP and gateway are correct.

I've tried upgrading the firmware with a USB stick.  I downloaded the zip file created the directory on the drive, unzipped it, added the upload.rcf file with the correct version, rebooted the interface with the reset button and it didn't update the firmware.  When it boots I get this:

To say that I'm unimpressed that this $2000 power strip shipped with outdated firmware and the process to updated it is obtuse at best would be an understatement.

I've configured it a few times. Only once after the abortive firmware update.

I did so via the serial cable.  Upon the 3rd reboot, it's now working. Which is odd as I was configuring 2 different PDUs.

Regardless, my problem has gone away.

Hi David,

Dropping the IP during a firmware upgrade is strange. Was this the only time the PDU was configured, or have you configured it multiple times and had the same results every time? For testing purposes, could you setup a direct network connection between the PDU LAN port and a LAN port on a laptop/local computer, similar to the setup in this article?

After assigning the IP address the first time, was the NMC rebooted? Or was the first time the NMC was rebooted during the firmware upgrade?
