Adding APC Smart-UPS XL 48V to Smart-UPS 3000 XLM

I have a Smart-UPS 3000 XLM and 2 APC Smart-UPS XL 48V modular units.  I can see the status of the Smart-UPS 3000 but it doesn't show the extra batteries.  How do I get it to see the modular units I have connected to the base unit (3000 XLM)?
