I am using smart ups smt 1000I ups for over two years old. Recently I found my network device (Cisco Router ,Cisco switch) was rebooted when power outage occurred.
From event log,I can only see the ups was switch to battery from utility power when network device was rebooted
I have no idea that why my network device will rebooted when ups start to switch to battery from utility power
Do you have any comments for that?

No. There is no difference in transfer times between a SMT1000i and SMX3000RMHV2U. They are both line interactive Smart-UPS.

Hi,
The Smart-UPS has a transfer time from when it is passing AC to running on battery. If the sensitivity is set to Normal the transfer time should be 2-4 milliseconds. Using the UPS front panel scroll to Configuration hit the enter key to enter Configuration. Scroll down to Menu Type and verify the menu is in Advanced mode. When in Advanced mode scroll down to Sensitivity. It should be set for Normal. If it is not set to Normal then monitor the equipment the next time there is an outage. If the Router and Switch still drop that indicates their power supplies cannot handle the slight transfer time and you will need to replace the Line Interactive UPS with an On-line model. With an On-line UPS the power is always flowing from the batteries and inverter so there is no transfer time.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply.
I have checked the sensitivity setting on smt1000I ups , it is set to Normal.
However I have no any network device power drop on another site office. There is be using SMX3000RMHV2U line interactive ups and same model & specification of cisco switch & cisco router. Also, the sensitivity setting of ups is set to Normal.
The network device power still normal when power outage occurred.
I would like to know there is any different of ups power transfer method between smt1000I and SMX3000RMHV2U when power outage occurred .

John
