APC9630 installation in SMT2200

The plastic liner of the SmartSlot enclosure of the SMT2200 has 2 tabs that protrude from the case. The slot cover has 2 slots, through which the tabs pass, to allow the cover to fit flush against the case.

The APC9630 has 2 slots as well, but the slot at the left end does not align with the tab at the left end of the SmartSlot. This prevents the APC9630 from sliding into the SmartSlot.

I found nothing in the documentation for either the SMT2200 nor the APC9630 that mentions the tabs. Do the tabs exist for a reason? Does the fact that the left tab and slot don't line up indicate that the APC9630 cannot be used in the SMT2200, even though the APC web site lists the APC9630 as an accessory for it?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

yes it works fine, we just need to send you a new updated faceplate. the earlier NMC2 faceplates were not adjusted before the SMT's were released.

if you want to PM me your shipping address/account info, i'll send you out a new faceplate. please confirm its AP9630 (vs. AP9631) and I need a serial number from the card.

if you prefer, confirm your email address in your profile and I will contact you via that method instead.

thanks!

Thanks very much.

The part is AP9630. The s/n on the face of the card is BA0915012758, and the one on the reverse is 1026819900041936.

The email in my profile is accurate.

I've got a similar problem with a Smart-UPS X 1500VA Rack/Tower LCD 230V SMX1500RMI2U and a Network Management Card 2 AP9630 we had delivered last week.

Is it again an old style faceplate issue?

The first four from the UPS are AS1037. The NMC2 are BA0909.

I'll PM you in a mo.

most likely, if the tabs dont line up. are the "slots" on the NMC faceplate the same side on the front of the NMC? also, you can provide the first four characters of your serial number, such as JA0925, and i can most likely confirm if its the answer or not.

if that is the case, i'd recommend contacting tech support for a replacement faceplate. i am in the USA but i see you are in the UK, else I could ship you one. i can still do so if you want though? PM me your address if you want.

I'm in the same vote, I have an AP9631 Card that won't fit due to the tabs not lining up, I can't seem to find a location online to buy the updated faceplate. Any ideas?

hi graham,

AP9619 is not compatible with SMT2200 even if you change the faceplates on them. You need get AP9630 or AP9631 which should hopefully ship with the correct faceplate already.
