APC UPS 5000 Output Power Error

Hi,

I just received in a new APC UPS SURTD5000XL rack mount system and have just finished setting it up. I have everything running fine and my servers are connected to the system and are working fine as well.

When I login to the UPS thru the Network Management Card Web interface, I see the following error:

1 Critical Alarm Present
- Output Power turned off

What does this mean? Everything is powered up correctly and the web interface shows the UPS is getting the power and such, but this error remains?

Can anyone help with this as to what may be causing the issue?

Thanks a lot.

Here you go, although it doesn't look like it says anything. The GUI still shows the error though.

hi

you probably want to check the Logs tab in the network management card to get the full story of whats happening. we'd want to look at the event log first and maybe look at the data log.

you can also post the logs for us here to take a look at. you can follow [these instructions|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321/] to do so.

thanks!

sorry, i forgot to check back yesterday.

do you have devices connected to the UPS? this error is telling us that the network management card things the output power is off.

what happens if you click on Control on the left hand side from that screenshot. does it say turn UPS output on?

Hi,

Yes, there are devices connected to the UPS. When I click on control on the left side, it does not say turn the power on. It gives me the following options:

Reboot UPS
Turn UPS Off
Put UPS to Sleep
Put UPS in Bypass
Signal PowerChute® Server Shutdown

Hi,

I just noticed something else to. If I go into UPS->Status, if I look at the first line, I see the following error. Screen shot attached as well.

Last Battery Transfer: Unacceptable utility voltage rate of change.

Could this have something to do with it?

hmm no, i don't think so. everything looks fine except for that alarm that is stuck there. can you try the following -> go to the Administration Tab->General->Reset/Reboot->Reboot management interface. Let's try and reboot the management interface to see if this problem clears. This will not affect load status in anyway.

if this doesnt work, are you or anyone else local to the unit? we could try reseating the card to clear the alarm and go from there.

thanks
