Why is APC's website sooooo sloooowwww - I've checked it many times from different systems/locations, and it's one of the slowest sites I've been on.... I usually give up...

The www.apc.com site appears to be hosted at Akamai (a content delivery network also used by Microsoft, NASA, etc.) so the performance problem is probably not there. My guess is that once you get to the web site, back-end processes go back to some server at APC and that's where the bottleneck is.

Well today in 2014 it is incredibly slow.... Most of my searches are timing out. I have had some luck first using Google and then using the site pages Google pulls up; but alas only "some" luck...

It is incredibly slow. I ended up calling the pre-sales number yesterday for product info; they couldn't help me because they seeminly rely on the website. Sort it out APC!

+1 to this thread. Their website has got to be one of the worst performing I've ever encountered. I ended up on this thread after searching Google for 'apc website slow' to see if others were having the same issue. This has been going on for years.
Real world example for you APC? Early on a Saturday morning I'm trying to findn documentation for the AP7941 PDU. My browser spun for minutes. Just to confirm it wasn't my home network, even though I already knew it was your site, I ran a wget against the same page from a remote linux system on a different network, and timed it:
# time GET 'http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP7941' >/dev/null
real 1m2.098s
user 0m0.090s
sys 0m0.010s
