Hello, we just got a new inverter from APC.
The network configuration has been well done, from the LCD display.
I managed to connect the inverter to the "smart connect" service.
However I can't access the web interface by entering the server's ip in my browser.
inverter model : SMT2200RMI2UC
Is there anything to do to start the web interface ?

To access the command line interface, you can use either a local, serial connection, or a remote connection (Telnet or SSH) with a computer on the same network as the Network Management Card (NMC). Use case-sensitive user name and password entries to log on (by default, apc and apc for a Super User).

To access the SMT2200RMI2UC go to smartconnect.apc.com.
Once registered you will be able access the UPS via the cloud. If you would like to access the UPS on your local network (not the cloud) you will need to purchase a network management card for the UPS. That UPS is compatible with network cards
AP9630, AP9631, AP9635, AP9640, AP9641, AP9643.

Thank you for your answer.
If I understand correctly, it also means that it is impossible to install APC Powerchute Network Shutdown for VMware, without a network management card?

PCNS works in conjunction with a network management card. The software can be installed but for it to work correctly and know the status of the UPS, it should be communicating with the network management card. If you will install PCNS without the correct NMC details/information, you will end up with a lot of communication failures events in PCNS.

Thanks for all your answers, I'll see what can be done. However, if I understand correctly, I can't do much without the network management card.

You are correct @Arsène, the model that you have is what we call as the SmartConnect/EcoStruxure Ready UPS. The network port on that UPS allows you to connect to our SmartConnect Cloud which enables you to view the status of the UPS as well as receive an email notification if configured.
The Network Management Card offers more features when it terms to managing and controlling the UPS.
