Hi,
Please my apc ups 1500 that am using with external 200AH batteries drains battery too fast and the battery graph immediately drops from 5 to 1 bar on switching from online to battery.
Any help on what to do to resolve this issue
Thanks.

Is it draining the battery fast or is the voltage drop across your battery cables under load making the UPS *think* the battery is dead? Try measuring the DC voltage at the input of the UPS when it switches across to battery and see what you get.

Hi Samuel -
Are you certain that is the exact model number? Do you by any chance have the serial number as well?
We do not generally support the use of third party batteries. Given the large AH rating of that battery, it is entirely possible that the charger in the UPS is not able to fully charge it (or that it will take an extended period of time). Any information being reported by Power Chute or the LED's on the front of the UPS will be incorrect. is the short runtime you are experiencing based on the numbers being reported or your actual experience? How long did you allow the unit to charge for?

Thanks for the response. I've not tried that though but I think the issue lies within the ups cos I use same wire and batteries with other ups but they don't give that complain.

Hi Samuel -
Do you have the exact model and serial of the UPS and the external battery cabinet? Have the batteries been replaced recently? Are they official APC replacement batteries?

Yes the model is SU1500I and the battery is not APC but luminous 200AH battery.
I've also checked the system its not voltage drop across the wire.

Have you done a runtime calibration?

Yes that's the exact number and If the unit charge the batteries for approximately 5 hours (which will produce all graph lights of the batteries indicator) it doesn't last up to 3 hours.

Hi all. I'm experiencing the same issue with my APC UPS 1500. I came with two batteries right out the box . I connected them and in just 5 mins my batteries was completely discharged. I place the in two separate UPS' and they recharged and works fine in the UPS'. I decided to place them back into the 1500 and same problem.
