Has anyone actually tried installing the APC Smart-UPS® RT , 8000/10000 VA 200-240 VAC Tower/Rack-Mount 6U Uninterruptible Power Supply ? This is similar to the IBM 10000XHV and the electrican is confused at the 2 post circuit breaker requirement... In plain English can someone tell me how to hard wire this UPS to the panel... single phase 210V is what we have currently. ... and yes we have the manual - confusing as heck ...

Jim - thanks for the help - I too first thought it was an overseas unit. But then the OP's profile says NY, USA. Sometimes people reference "single phase" as 208 but don't realize that it is actually two wires carrying that voltage.
Newbie - can you please get us the part number? This will clarify everything. It should be on a little white sticker on the back of the unit.

Your hardwire input connection should be 3 wires:
2 hot (120v) and a ground.
The input is the bottom connections, the output is on top (hardwire output is optional). Each the input and output has 3 terminals. Does this help or am I missing something?

This UPS isn't available in North America. Are you in North America? Your single phase 210V reference leads me to think you are not.
The bottom (6) IEC 13 are 230 V OUTPUT.
The top (1) IEC 320 C14 is 230V INPUT. Usually all the APC UPS I've seen have hard wired inputs with a NEMA plug but most of the world uses IEC.
