Hello,
I hope I have this post in the correct area. I just purchased this unit a week or so ago. It is a refurbished unit with new batteries. The issue that I am having is I first plug the battery pack into the UPS. Once that is done, I then plug it into utility power. Then once I turn it on, it emits this constant tone. LED wise, I have the online light on and no other errors such as battery replacement or undervolts. Is this tone due to the batteries needing charging, or does the unit need settings reset due to the new batteries. I'm looking for whatever help I can get as this is my first large power unit.

Without any LEDs beyond online illuminated, this generally is not good. Is it working normally otherwise? By that I mean outputting power, passed a self test when you turned on?
This constant tone is generally an indicator of an overload if you saw the overload LED on but without an LED lit, it could be indicative of another fault.
Another option is if the device has a Network Management Card installed we could review the logs. If not, you could also download the free PowerChute Business Edition if you happen to have the included USB or serial cable and we could also try and review logs from that to see if anything sticks out once the software is up and running and we let the UPS turn on and run for several minutes to see if logs are generated (since they are not saved on the UPS).
