Hi
I have a PHP script designed to reboot servers. It runs fine from SSH but when it runs from a PHP Script it don't work, the SNMP Log says
System: Detected an unauthorized user attempting to access the SNMP interface from XX.XX.XX.XX [HOSTNAME].
I have edited the IP/Hostname above.
I have uploaded the very latest firmware, I have also tried to reboot the management card, same issue.
in network>SNMP>v1>
i have it enabled and community name "apcreboot" has the IP, i also tried it by changing it to HOSTNAME from IP, and i have given Write+ access.
any ideas how to fix this?

we could download your config.ini file [via these instructions|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8789], to save and look at your settings, and then try resetting the PDU to defaults (except/excluding TCP/IP) to see that it works, then reupload the file afterwards so you dont have to reconfigure everything.
before you reset it, maybe you could take a screenshot or post the SNMP portion of your config.ini file as well as the settings in your NMS just to get a second set of eyes looking at it to to make sure there are no typos, etc

am i correct in understanding that you WANT HOSTNAME to be able to access the PDU via SNMP and it isnt working? or do you not want it to and just want the messages to stop?
if you want this HOSTNAME to access it, and the community name on the PDU and NMS (HOSTNAME) are the same, you could try rebooting the network management interface under the Administration->General->Reset/Reboot option in the web interface.

hi
yes i do want to connect, but getting an error as mentioned. I have tried rebooting the device.
example,
PDU hostname is apc.domain.com and server hostname is server.domain.com
on the SNMPv1 community settings, i have set the NMS to server.domain.com
but i get the error as mentioned in my first post 😞
