APC SMART-UPS 450 change from 220V to 110V input-Line after battery change

Hi.

I have an APC SMART-UPS 450 that works with 220V on input that is the line Voltage, the present line voltage supplied to the UPS system.

After the change of battery, the software PowerChute Business Edition show me that the Line Voltage and the Output Voltage is of 110V.

Is possible that some battery can change the behavior of the APC ups that works from 220V in input/output to 110V? Could that value be not real?

Thanks for your advice,

Mark

Hi

I have an APC SMART UPS RT 2000 .After replacing the battery is shows 110v in the HYPERTERMINAL as input voltage and the ups woldn't turn on.I get two error indications internal fault and overload red LED's are lighting up. I tried changing the values, but all i find are 105v,110v,120v,etc. I can't find 220v in the hyperterminal window. Please tell me how I can reset it back to 220v.

Thanks

Hi,
i haven't done any changes before and after i physically replace the battery. I've only replace the battery.

This are the UPS Information Parameters:
- UPS Model SMART-UPS 450
- Firmware Revision 40.11.D
- Manufacture Date 21 dicembre 2000
- Serial Number NS0052231120
- Battery Replacement Date 12 2000
- UPS Identification UPS_IDEN

I attach the data log of the ups.

I've replaced the battery on 22/06/2012 at 10.31.28 a.m. and as you can see, after that, the values of input/output voltage have been changed.

Thanks for your advice,

Mark

i feel like i have heard of this before and it being some type of firmware corruption. did you do any changes before or physically after you replaced the battery? what does the model report as in the software?

hi Mark,

I have an idea on what we can try but i won't be able to send you the instructions until later today via private message. i believe that we might be able to fix it. it'd require you to have the serial cable and a program like hyperterminal or putty to do terminal emulation with the UPS. i assume you have the serial cable since you are using powerchute but do you have a computer available with terminal emulation available?

Hi,
the ups is connected via serial cable 940-0024C to a COM1 of a server with Windows 2003 Server installed.
Hyper Terminal is just installed on the operating system of the server.

Could you send me the instructions?

Is possible that the configuration inside the ups has changed after the change of battery?

Thanks a lot for helps,

Mark

Hi,  I only see one PDF, and it does not contain the info needed to change the voltage from 110V to 220V. It only contains the LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR UPS-LINKTM CONTROL LANGUAGE, see attached.

https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/UPS-Link-Protocol-Language-Clicking-Download-confirms-you-ag...

Please advise.
