APC Back-Ups XS 900 and Power Chute Personal

I have an APC XS 900 with a data cat 5 port on the back. No usb. I have a usb-rj45 adapter that plugs in to the usb port on my computer. When istalling Power Chute it does not detect the battery back-up and will not finish install. Any ideas on comunicating with the battery back up with my computer. I need to turn the alarm off. hello,

you need the specific cable that came with your UPS - it is proprietary. the cable will be RJ-45 to USB. is the cable you are using the APC cable? it should've come in the box with the unit when you purchased it.
