APC Back-UPS BE850G2-GR battery problem or not?

I bought the BE850G2-GR in november 2021. It always worked perfectly. Because of some changes in my meter cupboard, I have disconnected the UPS for about a month. Last week, I wanted to reconnect it, but when I power it on, the Power on/off LED flashes red and Battery status LED flashes green in quick
succession. Also, there is a constant tone.

In the manual, I have read that this means the battery is disconnected. However, the battery is connected properly. I tried ordering a new battery. It arrived todat, I connected it, but unfortunately the same thing happens: power on/off LED flashes red and battery status LED flashes green in quick
succession. The constant tone is there as well.

Anybody has an idea what could be wrong? It would be a shame if the UPC is broken after only 2,5 years. Thanks in advance!

Assuming the new battery is 100% SOC. You may consider doing a Brain Dead reset as outlined in these two links.

Follow the steps that relate to your specific model:

https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156611/

https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158947/

Let me know what you see and observe once the brain dead rest has been completed.

NOTE: It’s important to remember that the battery installation date be updated in the APC Power Chute Software prior to doing this step! ☝️

I have almost the same issue:

APC UPS BE850G2 purchased 06-24-2020. On a replaced battery 08-01-2024. Voltage tested @ 13.26v.

UPS has been on since replacement. The other day all my devices connected to the UPS showed it was disconnected, devices were on again. My NAS was not happy. So this happened 3 times in a short time span less than an hour, perhaps.

Second shut down (that I know of) and restart I noticed:

flashing green light, flashing red light, flashing amber light, shutdown in 5 seconds or so then the device turned back on. Crazy, like nothing happened. Then the UPS started beeping intermittently.

I unplugged devices, turned off the UPS, unplugged the UPS, the UPS restarted all by itself beeping since it was not plugged in, plugged UPS back in, device beeps a couple more times and stopped. UPS shows it's on. Plugged devices back in, 1 minute later UPS is on the fritz again.

Turned off, unplugged devices, Tested battery, still at about 13v...

Tested both brain dead reset and UPS didn't care it kept trying to turn back on when the battery was hooked back up. Every time I tried to turn of it will turn itself back on (of course with battery attached).

I decided to use the UPS in another room, this time the UPS shut down completely (different devices attached) less than 10minutes or so.

Unlugged all devices. Hit the ON button and it turns on. (It's not an overload of watts since I have not had an issue before in the original connection of devices.)
It's been about an hour with no devices connected and it is still on, no beeps or issues.

I am guessing the internal brain is retarded and should get a new UPS. and it's not the battery or is it.
Oh did I say I have another BE850G2 and there is nothing wrong with that one. (so far) 🙂
Any one have thoughts on this? Other than a ghost?
