APC AV 15 Amp G Type Rack Power Filter randomly shuts off then powers back up after 5 minutes.

This worked fine for a few hours - then just randomly shut off - and will come back in about 5 minutes

A few questions to answer and consider relating to your problem:

- What does the unit indicate is the last fault?

- What does the unit indicate is the current & percentage? Keeping in mind it should be below 80% 12 (amps).

- What is the unit defined for upper & lower voltage protection? What is the current voltage indicated by the unit now?

- Overload: Has the unit ever declared a overload and tripped the breaker?

Please answer all the questions listed above.

No faults indicated

5%  2.4  amps  (approx)

92 Vols low   132 high

no overload - no tripper breaks

I tried the unit again yesterday - powers up - stays on - only now the only 2 left side lights on are POWER ON and LINE OK - the other 3 are not lit

Based on your reply it sounds like the hardware is damaged / defective. You can try defaulting the unit through the menu. I don’t suspect it will make a difference though.

Is the unit plugged directly into the wall outlet?!? Do not use an extension or plug it into another SPD / UPS.

Let me know the above questions and the results. Failing that submit a RMA with APC Technical Support at this number as the unit has a lifetime warranty:

1-888-88APCAV

Please do let us know how everything turns out after the RMA process is completed. 👍

Contact APC Technical Support to submit a RMA for the unit. Have the serial number and receipt on hand so they can assist in the warranty repair / replacement.

Let us know how things turn out. 👍
