I am trying to configure the network management card. It has been in operation for 2 months and since it is a refurb when I received it I updated it to v6.9.6 and at that time configured a APC appliance on a VMware and do not recall of any problems.
Now I just added a new server and a Synology and neither the SNMP or any of the APC appliance or even Network shutdown installed on a server can connect to the card.
During to process I wanted to change the authentication phrase but the menu Shutdown under Configuration seems to have disappeared (attached picture).
Anyone had that happened to them ? Maybe I missed something big time....
thanks you all.

I'm really glad I found this post.
I have been an APC user and installer for close to 30 years now.
I spent over an hour today looking for the firmware you posted a link to here. No matter how I searched on the "downloads" page, it was impossible to locate. It kept sending me to firmware for the Symmetra devices - regardless the fact that I had never specified that product in the search terms - which based on past experience would break a lot of things if you attempted to install that on a card being used in a SmartUPS. (SMT1500 in this particular case)
I had similar issues with the UPS firmware.
Is it my imagination or is the Schneider version of the APC website a giant mess now?

Hi,
You are not logging into the card with administrators privileges and therefore cannot edit/see the settings. Log out and log in as an administrator.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for taking the time to write me on this. Yes I am logged has admin with the apc user. I also did a complete reset of the thing and nothing. Can't get anything to connect or authenticate to it and the Shutdown menu is nowhere to be found. Very strange never seen that before.
Since I do not have the Shutdown menu I can't set or change the authentication phrase so I also tried the SNMP from my NAS and a big nothing on any settings.

Hi,
What is the model of the UPS. The screenshot attached shows the model of the NMC and the NMC firmware. The firmware installed is for a Symmetra UPS. If your UPS is a Smart-UPS then you need to install the correct firmware.

Hi Bill,
This would make sense I didn't know there were 2 different firmware for the card. The USP is a SMT1500RM2U.
It is very strange because I did configure an APC appliance on it when I got it originally.
I suppose that is the issue. What is the difference for symmetra it looks the same just thought the Shutdown menu was not there.
BTW thanks for the info I really appreciate.
