AP9630 - The application you are trying to load is incompatible with the current APC OS

Hello,

question is asked often 😞

This AP9630 is displaying this message on 2 UPS. It's actually connected to Smart UPS 2200. If my doc is correct & up to date, it's running firmware UPS 09.4 (ID18).

Connected to serial to AP9630, Network Card AOS is v6.9.6, Smart-UPS & Matrix UPS APP v6.9.6 too.
Stat : P+ N4+ N6+ A!

I already tried the "resetToDef  -p keepip". After about 10 minutes I was able to connect using putty again, setting correct IP, reboot. Wait 10 more minutes to get ping ok. I already was having this problem with firmware 6.9.4 and the upgrade didn't solve it.

What can I do now ?

Thanks,

Vincent

hello,

I try to follow the procedure of the KB (https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA293874/) as well as this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2dsPffXKz8&t=52s
But I still can't get access to BootMonitor.
- I am using TeraTerm on the COM8 at 9600 speed. It does not want to synchronize at a higher speed.
- During the reboot, TeraTerm almost immediately displays the login prompt 'User Name:'

First you need to log into the device via SSH or Serial and enable FTP using this command:

ftp -S enable

Next you need to download the following files:

https://schneider-electric.box.com/s/2pwkj0c41rs2byumkyafpezkvjx1ya63

Connect to the NMC using FTP, I recommend the WinSCP client,

Upload "apc_hw05_bootmon_109.bin" to the root,

The NMC will reboot,

Reconnect via FTP,

Upload "apc_hw05_aos_696.bin" to the root,

The NMC will reboot,

Reconnect via FTP,

Upload "apc_hw05_sumx_696.bin" to the root,

The NMC will reboot for the final time

Hello, no more luck 😞

after first & second upload, the card boot really fast. Less than 10 pings to be up. After the last one, it tapes 10 min.

try these commands:

web -s enable

reboot

That should enable HTTPS but I'm not sure the application has uploaded correctly.

The A! in the stat field means that the application hasn't loaded properly. ;

The only other things that come to mind are to make sure your on the same subnet as the NMC when updating or to follow this process below:

https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA293874/

It requires physical access to the card and a serial cable.
