Hi,
I have a Symmetra 20K UPS (single rack), with an NMC-1 card (AP9617) in it. I need to upgrade the firmware in this device because the UPS is showing as not communicating. The NMC-1 card is at AOS v3.0.3 and the UPS is showing (under Application), name = sy, version 3.7.2 .
I think it should be running sy3p, not sy. However, I cannot find the correct firmware to upgrade it correctly.
In my StruxureWare console, the device comes in but is showing as a generic SNMP device, which prevents me from attempting a firmware upgrade through StruxureWare. Additionally, if I look into the firmware catalog file that StruxureWare is going to use, the correct module appears to be there. I just am unsure on how to get that module into this UPS card correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
RLevasseur

Hi Robert,
The easiest thing will be to manually FTP the correct files directly to the AP9617. Then, once it is fixed, on a subsequent device scan in StruxureWare DCE, the device type will change.
You're also correct that a Symmetra PX 20K should use sy3p firmware, not sy which is intended for single phase Symmetra models.
Here is a link to the latest firmware: ftp://restrict:Kop$74!@ftp.apcc.com/restricted/hardware/nmcard/firmware/sy3p/372/apc_hw02_aos373_sy3...
You can follow the NMC1 instructions here for FTP: http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156047
Alternatively, you can try the .exe method to see if it works, which it may, but if it does not, try the FTP method to manually load the .bin files that get extracted after running the .exe file.
