AP9606 vs AP9617

I have used AP9605 cards and AP9617 cards in my UPS units. I'm looking to default to a web-based NMC for all of my UPS units. For my critical locations, i'm using the 9617...no ifs, ands, or buts about it. However for my non-critical locaitons, i'm looking at AP9606 cards that I can get for a cheaper price.

What are the advantages of the 9617 over the 9606, other than just being newer? Any advanced features?

9617 supports HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, SNMP V3, supports PCNS 2.2.3, data log (versus just having an event log), and more customizable event notification (such as delays, etc) just to name a few. also, obviously since the AP9606 is discontinued there will be no updates for the firmware or anything like that where the AP9617 has new free firmware updates periodically with new enhancements and tweaks/fixes if need be.

if you are looking to just monitor the UPS and general email alerts, it would be ok to use the AP9606. it is just limited in the features i mentioned above. i cant think of any others off the top of my head but maybe someone else can chime in if i missed any huge ones (which i dont think so).
