Hi,
We have 3 pdu AP8853 with a critical message : "Component communications lost with Phase Meter"
which means that we don't have any information about energy, power consuption and so on.
I have tried a lot of things and get in touch with Schneider Support but it looks that there is nothing we can do about it. I was also told that they can't repair it and of course it happens after the warranty period.
Does anyone experience the same issue with this kind of product ?
AP8853 doesn't appear anymore as a product on se.com.
Does it mean that we are near the end of life ?
Kind regards,

What did APC Technical Support say this specific error message indicates?!? Is the problem with the NMC or the actual PDU??
If the problem is the NMC it can be replaced if that’s a direction you wish to take.
What trouble shooting steps were given to help isolate the problem? Did they / have you tried to reload the NMC firmware? Have you tried to factory reset the NMC? Have you tried a format of the NMC?
All of the above obviously focuses on the NMC in terms of things to try. If the problem lies with the PDU have you taken one of them out of production and cold booted the unit to see what the behaviour is?
If you have three identical PDU’s with the same error message. Have you checked to see if the terminator is in place and correctly installed?!?
This is especially important if the three are chained together!
Let me know what you see and observe and the questions I posed about the NMC. 👍

Hi,
I did all the actions i could do with the NMC (upgrade, replace, factory reset,...) and it didn't solve the problem.
So the problem should be around an electronic card inside the device.
I have disassembled one PDU to see how it was build and found that the electronic parts were easily accessible. So i was a little bit disappointed when the support answer me that it was not repairable.
I am kind of upset to throw those devices away whereas they are still "basically" working.
Kind regards,

What is the status of the terminators?

We don't use those ports as the connection is done with ethernet. But i remove it and plug it in the in and out port but it doesn't change anything in the behaviour of the PDU.

Appreciate the follow up as it relates to the termination plug. Sad to learn the PDU is still not working as expected. ☹️
Very hard to accept all three PDU’s are damaged which I gather was do to a power surge event within the facility.
