I recently bought a second hand AP7921 with firmware version 2.7.4. After testing it I noticed that the network connection led (the bottom one besides the network connection) was blinking orange and I could not access the device. A re boot solved the issue and made me to decide to upgrade to the newest firmware version 3.7.0 for this device.
The upgrade seemd to have gone OK although the last step of the update was to reconnect to the AP7921 which was not working in time. Logging in on the web interface did not work so I logged in into the AP7921 via Telnet and saw that the firmware indeed was 3.7.0. In Telnet I first did a foctory reset without changing IP settings and when that did not help a factyory reset with TCP/IP changes. Now the device has the network light blinking organge again and the led above the display is red.
Is there something I can do to get the device up and running again? I don't have a serial cable available (nor do I have a computer with a serial connection by the way).

Shasuren and voidstar you were right. First putting in the network settings and then performing the same firmware again solved the issue indeed. Thanks!

On the web interface after you upgraded, did it say that the application failed to load?
At this point, it sounds like the card works great except for the missing application, which can be fixed by loading it in again. The problem is we need to set up the TCP/IP settings, and the only way I'm aware of for doing that is using the serial cable.
There are some [alternate configuration methods|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3061] but I'm not sure if they work when the card has already been configured. Then again, the reset-to-defaults may have reverted the card to an unconfigured state where they will work.
If you end up needing to use the serial port method you can use a USB to Serial adapter. I'm not sure where to get the cable though, perhaps someone else here knows more.

When you login the Telnet session, the "Stat" details must show P+ N+ A+. Then only you have properly upgraded the New firmware on it.
If not, you need to reflash the firmware. It will resolve the issue.
