AP7721 doesn't show current or load when the A source is active

Hi. I've got a problem with an ATS model AP7721, it doesn't show current or load when the A source is active.

First I thought that was a firmware issue so I run an firmware update. This is the current version

Model: AP7721
Firmware Revision: 3.0.7
Firmware Date: 03/10/16
Hardware Revision: R01
Manufacture Date: 08/07/2014
Serial Number: 5A1432T04685

Source Measurements

  Source A Source B
Input Frequency:  50 Hz  50 Hz
Input Voltage:  218 VAC  217 VAC

Power Output and Power Supplies
Power Output
Total Power:  0 Watts
Power Supplies
Source A 24V PS:  23 VDC
Source B 24V PS:  23 VDC
+12V PS:  12 VDC
-12V PS: -12 VDC
5V PS:  5 VDC

Then I saw that some others ATS work ok and I found that if the source A is active the ATS doesn't show any measure. If source B is active it's show the measure ok.

Any help or idea to solve this problem??

Thanks in advance.

OK, thanks. I was just checking because a complete power off is not normally needed for a firmware upgrade on these products...

Hello,

This unit appears to have been manufactured in 2014 - did you recently purchase it? If not, how long has it been in service? I am curious if this ever worked for you.

When source B is working properly, how much current is it able to detect?

I would think it is a hardware problem somewhere with the circuitry that is used to detect the current on the particular source but it is possible if the load is extremely low, sometimes it won't be able to read it.

Lastly, the event.txt and data.txt would be helpful to review, especially with the specifics about if this ever worked properly. Instructions are located here are downloading event.txt and data.txt (config.ini is not needed at this time) -> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156131

Angela thanks for you reply.

We bought them on 2014, but we start to installed in 2016. These ats were working for around one year.

A few months ago I configured with SNMP and syslog to control them and I found this problem.

This morning I was doing a more detailed work and I found that after the firmware update (3.07) a completely shutdown of the ats seems to be the solution.

I' ve installed 7 ATS and at this time 3 have problems, but the problem is different, they report 0A

ATS-01 firmware 3.07 hardware R01. This ats is reporting a 0A load, but It has got connected a HP desktop PC and 5 modems.

ATS-02 firmware 3.07 hardware R01. This ats is reporting a 0A load, but It has got connected a netbackup tape library, I'm not sure about the load of this equipment.

ATS-03 firmware 3.05 hardware R01 This ats  is reporting a 0A load but it's has got connected 2 switches FC brocade.

I will go on working to solve this problem.

Thanks

Hi Alessandr,

Thanks for the update. So you're saying after you upgraded the firmware, a complete power down of the ATS fixed the issue? So you'll go and turn all of the others on and off?

Yes. There are 3 ATS that still not work, I think this is because I am not be able to power off them due to critical equipment.

I'll update the post as soon as possible.

Regards
