I am running a Smart-UPS RT 10000 XL with a AP9617 module installed.
The output relay contacts are set up with a small 12v transformer and a strobe light in series, with one leg of the circuit through the UPS relay. so when the relay closes it completes the circuit and the strobe flashes.
Whenever an alert happens that causes the strobe to flash however I get the following message in the logs"A fault exists for integrated Environmental Monitor Output Relay".
Is this saying I am overloading the output relay or just alerting me to the fact the output relay is in operation.
The word "FAULT" scares me!
Any help appreciated!
Cheers,
-Nick

It doesn't mean there's an electrical problem. It's alerting you that the relay is not in its normal state.
A normally open relay, when closed, will signal a fault.
A normally closed relay, when opened, will signal a fault.
I hope the word "fault" didn't scare you too much! Perhaps it was a poor choice of words.

Maybe rather than "fault" it could say "Integrated Environmental Monitor Output Relay has operated" and "Integrated Environmental Monitor Output Relay has reset"...?
Something for the firmware / software people to work on maybe.
Thanks for your help and clearing up the confusion.

what model card is yours? AP9631 or AP9619? can you post your event.txt? you can follow these instructions -> http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321
also, what is attached to your NMC? (probe, etc)
